Open Sourcing DIMO Contracts
Today, we are proud to announce that the DIMO Network is open sourcing its core contracts. At DIMO, we are committed to building a decentralized network that is open, transparent and community-driven.
Open sourcing this code is a big step towards achieving this goal. It allows anyone to review, contribute to, and build on top of our codebase. This helps to ensure the security and stability of the network while also fostering a sense of community ownership.

One of the biggest challenges facing decentralized projects is the potential for scams and fraudulent activities. To mitigate this risk, we have chosen to use the Business Source License (BSL) for some of our code. This license allows for the use, modification, and distribution of the licensed software, but it also includes a restriction that prohibits using the software for commercial purposes without a separate commercial license. This license only applies to a few repositories and most will be Apache 2 from the start.
Additionally, all intellectual property associated with the network is assigned to the DIMO Foundation, which represents the token holders. This allows the community to have a say in the direction and governance of the project.
We believe that this approach helps to balance the need for security and decentralization. After 3 years, the code will be transitioned to the Apache License, further promoting open-source development and community engagement.
We understand that open sourcing our code is just the first step in building a truly decentralized network. We look forward to working with the community to continue improving and evolving the DIMO Network and more importantly, building applications on DIMO.
